Michael McDonald announces first UK solo shows in eight years (2018)

MICHAEL McDonald, five-time Grammy Award winner and formerly of The Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan and a member of super-group the Dukes of September, has announced his first UK solo shows in eight years with three dates in March 2018.

The run of dates include a night at London’s Hammersmith Eventim Apollo on March 15.

Tickets go on sale: at 9am on Friday, November 10.

Michael McDonald, who tours extensively as a solo artist in the US, recently released his first new album Wide Open in nine years, and his first set of original material in 17 years.

The album finds him collaborating with a number of special guests, including saxophonist Branford Marsalis, guitarist-singer Warren Haynes (Allman Brothers Band, Gov’t Mule), guitarist Robben Ford, bassist Marcus Miller, Amy Holland and David Paich, to name a few…

McDonald commented: “Returning to the U.K. and EU is long overdue. I really look forward to reconnecting with fans and the opportunity to perform music from my new album and classic hits.”

The tour dates are (all March 2018)

12 – Manchester O2 Apollo
13 – Birmingham Symphony Hall
15 – Hammersmith Eventim Apollo
