Muse set to contribute to New Moon soundtrack

MUSE look set to contribute another song to the soundtrack for second Twilight movie, New Moon.

Frontman Matt Bellamy told MTV News that he has spoken to the film’s director Chris Weitz about supplying I Belong To You (+Mon Coeur S’Ouvre A Ta Voix) to the soundtrack.

The song is taken from the band’s latest album, the UK chart topping The Resistance. It would follow the use of their previous single, Supermassive Black Hole on the original film.

Bellamy is quoted as saying: “I spoke to the director yesterday [and] he wants the track I Belong To You, the sort of vaudeville piano track. He wants a rendition of that but the only thing with the new film is they want the songs to be exclusive to the film.

“So, he’s asking if I mind doing, or if we mind doing, an alternative version of it… I think it might be worth giving it a go because it’s a track that might not get played live very often.”

If a deal can be worked out, Muse will join The Killers, Thom Yorke and Bon Iver as artists who are rumoured to be on the new soundtrack for New Moon, which is due for release on November 20.
