New To Q Tour 2011: Noah & The Whale and Clare Maguire on bill

Noah & The Whale

Story by Jack Foley

THE New To Q series of concerts return to London in January 2011 with a line-up that includes the likes of Noah & The Whale, Clare Maguire and Funeral Party.

The gigs, to be held at Bush Hall in London, take place between January 24 and 28, and follow the success of last year’s inaugural event, which featured the likes of Ellie Goulding, Marina & The Diamonds and I Blame Coco.

Opening this year’s bill, and fresh from opening for 30 Seconds To Mars, LA’s punk-funk collective Funeral Party get the party started on January 24, supported by Kid Adrift and Liz Lawrence.

They will be followed, on January 25, by the Next Big Thing winner at this year’s Q Awards, Clare Maguire, who performs with the hotly tipped Liam Bailey and Primary 1.

Night three sees rising Brit folk band Noah And The Whale previewing songs from their upcoming third album, which has a working title of Old Joy. They will be joined by Ben Howard and Alice Gold.

Manchester experimental popsters Egyptian Hip Hop do the honours on January 27, with support coming from Dutch Uncles, while The Pierces – aka New York-based sisters Catherine and Allison Pierce – close the Sessions with new Deconstruction Records signing Murray James and David Lyre.

Tickets are on sale now.
