Nickelback announce UK Arena shows (2009)


MULTI-million selling Canadians Nickelback are set to return to the UK for a string of arena shows next May off the back of their recent sell out tour and in support of their new album Dark Horse.

The band will play will play five UK shows, kicking off at Manchester’s Evening News Arena on May 22 and finishing with a night at London’s O2 Arena on May 28.

Since it rolled out of Alberta some 13 years ago, Nickelback has been a hit-making, multi-platinum concern whose last album, 2005’s All The Right Reasons, has stoked great expectations for the quartet’s sixth album, Dark Horse.

The tour dates are (all May 2009):

22 – Manchester Evening News Arena
23 – Glasgow SECC Hall 4
25 – Newcastle Metro Radio Arena
26 – Birmingham NIA
28 – London, 02 Arena

Tickets will be on general sale from 9am on Friday, December 5, 2008 and all are subject to a booking fee. They cost £33.50 (regional, except Manchester £34) and £37.50 (for London).

Commenting on the new album, Dark Horse, Chad Kroeger explains: “I honestly think that with every song you release you have to keep winning your own fans over again. I want every single song to be amazing. That’s what I want to hear, so that’s what we have to try to provide to our fans.”
