Nizlopi to play HMV in-store gig

Story by Jack Foley

NIZLOPI, the stellar folk hip-hop duo whose JCB Song topped the UK chart just before last Christmas, mark the release of their new single Girls with a free show and signing session at HMV’s flagship 150 Oxford Street store in London on Tuesday, March 28.

The duo – John Parker (double bass and human beatbox) and Luke Concannon (vocals, guitar and percussion) – start their performance at 6pm.

Following the show, Nizlopi will remain in the store to meet fans and sign copies of Girls, which is released on Monday, March, 27.

The new single is described by Parker as “unpredictable, nice but moody” and by Concannon as “an emotional love letter written on the back of an old envelope about lost love and the search for true love”.

It is taken from Nizlopi’s Half These Songs Are About You album.

Nizlopi fans can also catch them at London’s Scala on March 20.
