Norah Jones announces 2010 UK dates

Norah Jones

Story by Jack Foley

MULTIPLE Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Norah Jones has announced UK dates in support of her critically-acclaimed new album The Fall next year (2010).

The singer will be playing two dates, in London and Manchester, in June. Tickets go on sale on Thursday, December 17, at 9am.

The dates are (both June 2010):

21 – Manchester Apollo (£25/£32.50)
22 – London HMV Hammersmith Apollo (£25/£35)

The Fall finds Jones experimenting with a new set of collaborators, including Jacquire King, a noted producer and engineer who has worked with Kings of Leon, Tom Waits, and Modest Mouse among others.

Jones enlisted several songwriting collaborators, including Ryan Adams and Okkervil River’s Will Sheff, as well as her frequent partner Jesse Harris.

King also helped Jones put together a new group of musicians to perform on the album, including drummers Joey Waronker (Beck, R.E.M.) and James Gadson (Bill Withers), keyboardist James Poyser (Erykah Badu, Al Green), and guitarists Marc Ribot (Tom Waits, Elvis Costello) and Smokey Hormel (Johnny Cash, Joe Strummer).
