OneRepublic announce UK tour (2008)

Story by Jack Foley

AFTER impressing fans at their two sold-out London shows earlier this year, OneRepublic have now announced a new seven-date UK tour which kicks off in September.

The jaunt will include a night in London, at The Forum, on September 24, before concluding in Birmingham in October.

The LA-based band are now one of the biggest US bands to break through into the UK market this year and to date they have sold over 800,000 records.

This includes their two top five singles Apologize and Stop and Stare, which were taken from the album, Dreaming Out Loud, which spent seven weeks in the UK Top 10.

The new dates will be the first time the band have toured the UK and will come a month after their appearances at this year’s V festival, where they are confirmed to play the Channel 4 stage alongside Kaiser Chiefs and The Courteeners.

To coincide with their UK tour this autumn, OneRepublic – Ryan Tedder, Zach Filkins, Drew Brown, Brent Kutzle and Eddie Fisher – will be heading for the charts again with their next single Mercy.

The tour dates are (all 2008):

23 – Southampton Guildhall
24 – London Forum
25 – Manchester Academy
27 – Glasgow Academy
28 – Newcastle Academy
29 – Sheffield Academy

1 – Bristol Academy
3 – Birmingham Academy
