Panic! At The Disco and My Chemical Romance unite for Pumpkins tribute

Panic! At The Disco

Story by Jack Foley

A TRIBUTE album to The Smashing Pumpkins is being produced with the help of contributions from My Chemical Romance, Panic! At The Disco (pictured) and +44.

Billy Corgan’s reformed Pumpkins are due to make their keenly anticipated comeback on May 22 at the Grand Rex Theatre in Paris, ahead of the release of new album Zeitgiest on July 7.

They will also headline the Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds festivals over the August Bank Holiday weekend (24-26).

But according to Punk News, a tribute album is also being lined up that will feature bands inspired by the Pumpkins singing classic cuts from their back catalogue.

Exact details are still being confirmed and it’s not yet known which songs Panic! At The Disco or +44 will be covering but there will also be a contribution from The New Amersdams.

The LP will be released by Myspace Records – so watch this space…
