Pearl Jam to play small London gig (2006)

Pearl Jam

Story by Jack Foley

PEARL Jam have announced details of an extremely intimate London show next month ahead of the release of their new studio album.

After a four year gap, Pearl Jam will release a self titled new album on May 1, 2006, which will be preceded by the limited edition single, World Wide Suicide on April 24.

To herald the arrival of the new material, the band will play London’s Astoria on April 20, to mark Pearl Jam’s first live show in the UK since 2000, when they played two sell-out shows at Wembley Arena.

Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday, March 30 and will only be available via seetickets.com or ticketmaster.co.uk. They are limited to two per person.

Demand is expected to be high. In America, World Wide Suicide has already debuted on the Billboard Modern Rock Audience Chart at number 1.

And it currently stands at number 3 overall on the mainstream Billboard chart, making it the highest Modern Rock debut in US history.

Further UK and European tour dates are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
