Pentatonix announce 2014 UK tour

Pentatonix

Story by Jack Foley

FOLLOWING their debut sold out UK tour dates last month Pentatonix have announced a full UK tour for April and May next year (2014).

Pentatonix are taking instrument-free music far beyond anyone’s wildest expectations. Named after the world’s most widely recognized five-note musical scale, this vocal quintet has transformed one of pop music’s purest and most soulful expressions into an exciting future, filled with limitless sonic possibility.

Pairing their intricate arrangements with cleverly re-imagined pop songs, Pentatonix have quickly cultivated a sound and style that is entirely unique and undeniably infectious.

After winning the most recent season of NBC’s The Sing Off, Pentatonix have enjoyed a whirlwind of success. They released 2 EP’s – PTX Vol 1 and PTXmas – twice debuting on Billboard’s Top 200 and selling over 125,000 albums and counting.

Pentatonix have covered tracks such as Lorde’s Royals (18 million views), Imagine Dragons’ Radioactive (over 48 million views), Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ Can’t Hold Us and a Daft Punk 7-song medley which has accrued more than 25 million views.

They have twice toured North America, regularly selling out venues, and their first ever European Tour, which included three UK shows, sold out in its entirety.

The 2014 UK tour dates are (all April and May):

24 – London O2 Shepherds Bush Empire
