Pet Shop Boys

Story by Jack Foley

PET Shop Boys have confirmed they will release their new album Super on April 1, 2016, as well as perform a four-night residency at London’s Royal Opera House in July.

The album was written in London and Berlin and produced and mixed by Stuart Price in Los Angeles.

It features 12 new Tennant/Lowe compositions, including the lead single, The Pop Kids. Super will be available on CD, vinyl and digitally.

The single is being described as a classic PSB anthem which evokes the London club scene of the early 90s.

In addition to the new material, Pet Shop Boys have also confirmed a residency of four very special concerts at London’s Royal Opera House on July 20, 21, 22, 23.

Entitled Inner Sanctum, the concerts will be the only opportunity to see this brand new, site-specific Pet Shop Boys show, which is being staged by long-term PSB designer Es Devlin and choreographer Lynne Page.

Pet Shop Boys commented: “It was fantastic to be back in the studio with Stuart Price continuing from where we left off with Electric and we’re thrilled with the results. It’s also very exciting to take electronic music into the Royal Opera House – such a grand and beautiful venue. These will be four very special nights for us and our only UK concerts this year.”

Ticket prices range from £25 to £100, including 80 standing tickets in the orchestra pit of the Royal Opera House. There is a maximum of four tickets per person.
