Pet Shop Boys to play one-off Christmas show for Mencap

Pet Shop Boys

Story by Jack Foley

PET Shop Boys will be performing a very special Christmas Big Noise Session show on December 8, 2010, at HMV Hammersmith Apollo.

The legendary dance-pop duo will be presenting a one-off UK theatre performance of their Pandemonium show, which has toured the world and was a huge hit at this year’s Glastonbury Festival and at The O2 Arena last year.

They will also be joined by a number of support acts who will be announced in the coming weeks.

Tickets are priced at £50 (plus booking fee) and all proceeds from the night will go to learning disability charity Mencap.

Mencap’s Big Noise Session is a new addition to the much-loved Little Noise Sessions, curated and hosted by the legendary DJ and Mencap ambassador Jo Whiley.

Last year’s inaugural event saw bonafide superstars Coldplay perform a one-off homecoming gig in Exeter and now it’s the turn of Pet Shop Boys to bring their magic to Big Noise as it makes its London debut.

This spectacular Christmas present comes hot on the heels of the recent announcement of the hugely successful Mencap’s Little Noise Sessions.

Running over six nights, artists including Tom Jones, Paolo Nutini, Hurts, Ellie Goulding, The Kooks, Example, plus many more will be performing acoustic sets at Islington’s stunning Union Chapel. Now in their 5th year the Sessions will celebrate its birthday in style. Find out more

The Pet Shop Boys commented: “We are very happy to support Mencap and look forward to an amazing evening with our last UK Pandemonium show ever.”
