Story by Jack Foley

HARD Rock International has revealed details of its second annual PINKTOBER™ charity concert, following the success of last year’s debut event.

Taking place on Tuesday, October 5 at London’s IndigO2, the concert will host exclusive performances from top female pop acts, including The Bangles, Beverley Knight, Amy Macdonald and many more to be announced.

Hard Rock’s PINKTOBER campaign is an annual global initiative, hosted each October, to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research.

The campaign features limited-edition products, as well as a series of live music and fundraising events at Hard Rock establishments around the world.

In the UK, funds will be raised for the Caron Keating Foundation, which offers financial support and grants to all types of cancer charities, professional carers, complimentary healing practitioners, as well as individuals and families who are affected by the disease.

Tickets are priced from £25-35 and go on sale on August 11 on www.ticketmaster.co.uk.

Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Caron Keating Foundation, with October 5 marking what would have been Caron’s 48th birthday.

“The PINKTOBER program is an important initiative that brings together everything Hard Rock stands for – philanthropy, amazing music, iconic merchandise and delicious menu offerings,” said Hamish Dodds, president and CEO, Hard Rock International.

“We’re proud to continue to show our support for the Caron Keating Foundation through this PINKTOBER charity concert, and are extremely honored that we can pay tribute to Caron on what would have been her 48th birthday.”

Gloria Hunniford, mother of Caron and co-founder of the Caron Keating Foundation, added: “It is so exciting and humbling to be involved through Caron’s Foundation with Hard Rock’s Pinktober for the fourth consecutive year.

“The money Hard Rock has raised through supporters and fans through the Pinktober programme has enabled us to help cancer charities around Britain. My gorgeous and vibrant daughter Caron was diagnosed in her 30’s with breast cancer and although she fought it with great tenacity for seven years she sadly lost her battle in 2004.

“Caron left behind her two boys, Charlie and Gabriel, 16 and 13. The boys also get involved in the foundation and as a family run business with the only expense being a part time secretary we can assure you that all money raised will go to really deserving cancer charity causes.”

Beginning in September, Hard Rock’s PINKTOBER merchandise will be sold at Hard Rock properties worldwide, including Cafes, Hotels, Casinos and on www.hardrock.com.

Hard Rock’s PINKTOBER pin, the 11th in a series supporting breast cancer research and awareness, features a silver base with Pink enamel and clear rhinestones on a dangling Pink ribbon.

Hard Rock’s PINKTOBER bracelet features six charms that capture the spirit of the cause including a dangling BCA ribbon adorned with clear rhinestones, a heart, a butterfly, a microphone, a dove and the empowering word “HOPE”

Hard Rock’s PINKTOBER Pink women’s v-neck, short-sleeve t-shirt uses a watercolour art style, and features a BCA ribbon wrapped around a guitar, surrounded by butterflies, doves, and the words “HARD ROCK’.

Hard Rock’s PINKTOBER rocker black leather women’s vest is made of 100% soft pebble grain cowhide. The vest’s back is accented with a Pink breast cancer awareness ribbon and adorned with Pink rhinestones. The front features a Hard Rock logo and the inside is lined with Pink diamond quilting.
