Portishead

Story by Jack Foley

PORTISHEAD have announced details of a new European tour, including two nights in London in April.

In addition to a night at the Hammersmith Apollo on April 10, the trip-hoppers will also be playing Brixton Academy on April 17.

The tour was announced following the success of last year’s ATP performance and is designed to enable the band to showcase material from their forthcoming new album Third – their first LP in 11 years, which is due for release at the end of March.

The London dates are two of only five in the UK, with other concerts taking place in Manchester, Wolverhampton and Edinburgh. They are sandwiched in between more European dates.

Members of Portishead’s mailing list can get hold of tickets exclusively from Wednesday (January 23, 2008), before they go on general sale from Friday, January 25, at 9am.
