Prince, 3121

Story by Jack Foley

THE final six nights of Prince’s residency in London have been revealed – and tickets are now on sale.

The popular performer will play The O2 Arena on August 24 and 25, as well as September 6, 16, 20 and 21.

Prince is now performing ALL 21 dates at The O2, after his last 15 concerts sold out in a matter of hours.

The shows eclipse all previous arena attendance records and will see Prince perform his greatest hits for the last time ever.

PREVIOUSLY POSTED: PRINCE has announced a series of 21 concerts in London this summer in what will be his only European dates of the year.

The popular performer is to spend a week at The O2 Arena – formerly the Millennium Dome – beginning with dates on August 1, 3, 4, 7, 10, 11 and 14, 2007.

Tickets have been priced at £31.21, in reference to his current album 3121, and will be available from 9am on Friday, May 11.

He will also play a number of smaller venues across the capital in a bid to make seeing him “affordable for everyone”.

Speaking at a press conference, Prince, now 48, said he has prepared 150 songs to perform on the tour and even hopes to be joined on stage by soul singer Amy Winehouse, of whom he is a big fan.

He also spoke of his affection for the UK capital, saying: “I love London. I’ve had some of my favourite shows here.”

He went on to reveal that his “extended stay” had been arranged because of the fact that during his last tour of the capital in October 2002 a lot of people couldn’t get to see him. As such, he would be house hunting in the capital and planned to start his search right after the press conference.

Prince is, of course, the artist best known for hits such as Purple Rain, Kiss, Cream and Raspberry Beret. He also changed his name to a squiggle symbol in the 1990s after falling out with his record label.
