Q Awards 2012: Blur and The Stone Roses up for two prizes each

BLUR, The Stone Roses, Noel Gallagher and Florence + The Machine lead the nominees at this year’s 2012 Q Awards with two nods apiece.
Announcing the nominations for the magazine’s annual awards ceremony, Q editor Andrew Harrison declared: “It’s been the most incredible year for British music.”
He went on to say: “Our bands and our anthems transformed the Olympics into the greatest music event on Earth.
“And amazing comeback shows from Blur and The Stone Roses showed the enduring appeal of our greatest musicians. All the nominees for this year’s Q Awards helped make 2012 an absolutely unforgettable year.”
Fans can vote for their favourite acts on the Q website until early October.
