Radiohead to release King of Limbs on Saturday

Story by Jack Foley

RADIOHEAD have announced that they will be releasing their new album The King Of Limbs this Saturday, February 19, 2011.

The announcement was made through their official website this morning (February 14, Valentines Day) and the LP is available to order now online at

The King Of Limbs will be available from Saturday as a download, priced £6 or £9.

Fans will have to wait for the physical release until May 9, when it’ll emerge as a ‘newspaper album’ priced £30 /or £33.

According to Radiohead’s website, the ‘newspaper album’ will include ‘Two clear 10” vinyl records in a purpose-built record sleeve, a compact disc, many large sheets of artwork, 625 tiny pieces of artwork and a full-colour piece of oxo-de-gradeable plastic to hold it all together.’

The album title refers to an oak tree in Wiltshire’s Savernake Forest, which is thought to be around 1,000 years old.

It has special significance for Radiohead, as they recorded part of In Rainbows three miles away from the forest where the tree is located – at Tottenham House county manor.

Visit the band’s website to find out more about what’s included across the various formats (digital and physical).
