Rat Boy confirms biggest headline UK tour (2018)

Story by Jack Foley

AFTER releasing his debut album Scum, Rat Boy has confirmed details of his biggest UK tour to date.

The singer will play a total of seven shows in January and February 2018, culminating with a show at London’s Brixton Academy.

The news comes as Rat Boy and his band prepare to hit the main stage at the Reading (Friday) and Leeds (Saturday) festivals this weekend.

In addition, Rat Boy will also play three shows next month as guests to The Libertines before headlining Manchester’s Neighbourhood Festival on October 7, 2017.

Now armed with a critically praised debut to match the raw energy of his shows, Rat Boy will play the following headline gigs (all January and February 2018)…

31 – Glasgow, Barrowland

2 – Belfast, The Limelight
3 – Dublin, Academy
5 – Cardiff, Tramshed
6 – Leicester, O2 Academy
8 – Newcastle, O2 Academy
10 – London, O2 Academy Brixton

Tickets go on general sale from 9am on Thursday, August 31.

Scum finds Rat Boy – aka Jordan Cardy – exploring relatable themes of his and his friends’ experiences growing up disillusioned in suburban Essex.

While the album is united by such concepts, musically Rat Boy jumps at will between hip-hop, punk, indie anthems, gospel, big beat and bossa nova like the Beastie Boys for the Brexit generation.
