REM to play London's Apple store

REM have been confirmed to play a rare instore gig at London’s flagship Apple Store in Regent Street on Tuesday, March 26 (2008).

The gig will mark the third anniversary of the iTunes Live From London series, which has already featured a stellar line-up of artists including Keane, Stereophonics and Supergrass.

Tickets for the event will not open be open to the public, but will be held for 450 selected fan club members and competition winners. However, it will be performed, recorded and sold exclusively on all 22 iTunes stores worldwide.

Michael Stipe and co will play exclusive tracks from their new album Accelerate, which is released on March 31. The gig comes 48 hours after the band’s sold-out show at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the ICA’s 60th birthday celebrations.

REM fans can also see the band performing new and classic material at one of their big shows in the summer, including Twickenham’s RFU stadium on August 30. Find out more
