Reunited Beach Boys announce UK tour date (2012)

Brian Wilson

Story by Jack Foley

REUNITED members of seminal group The Beach Boys have announced a one-off UK date as part of their comeback tour.

The band will play London’s Wembley Arena on September 28, 2012, as the only UK date so far.

The Beach Boys’ 50th anniversary world tour began in Arizona in April and features the surviving line-up of Brian Wilson (pictured), Mike Love, David Marks, Al Jardine and Bruce Johnston.

Sadly, Wilson’s brothers Dennis and Carl, who were among the original members, died in 1983 and 1998 respectively.

In their heyday, The Beach Boys are credited with setting the mould for modern pop thanks to the success of their seminal 1966 album Pet Sounds and the world-wide success of songs such as Good Vibrations and Surfin’ USA.

Tickets for the Wembley date go on sale on Friday, June 1, while their new album, That’s Why God Made The Radio, is out on June 4.

They band are touring in the US and Canada until July before moving to Europe, Japan and Singapore. To find out more about where you can see them, visit the band’s website.
