Richard Ashcroft's United Nations of Sound announce dates

RICHARD Ashcroft’s new band, United Nations of Sound, have confirmed their first live dates.

A European tour will start in Ancona, Italy on June 5, 2010 followed by dates in France, Germany, and Holland, before climaxing with two UK shows in Manchester and London on June 15 and 16.

Tickets for the UK and Europe go on sale on Friday, April 16.

United Nations of Sound have also been added to the bills of Summer Sonic Festival in Japan and Splendour in The Grass Festival in Australia.

The band’s debut album will be released on June 7 on Parlophone. The album was recorded in New York, Los Angeles and London, and produced by Chicago hip-hop pioneer No I.D.

The tour dates are (all June 2010):

10 – Berlin Columbia Club
12 – Cologne Gloria
13 – Amsterdam Melkweg
15 – Manchester Academy 1,
16 – London Shepherd’s Bush Empire

Tickets cost £23.50 (for London) and £22.50 (Manchester) and are on sale from 9am on Friday, April 16.
