Robert Plant and Alison Krauss announce European tour (2008)
Story by Jack Foley
ROBERT Plant and Alison Krauss have announced a European tour in 2008, thereby dampening the chances of further Led Zeppelin concert appearances.
The duo released their new album, Raising Sand, in October – just before Plant, 59 and Led Zeppelin colleagues Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones confirmed they would play a one-time only show at a benefit concert for the late Atlantic Records co-founder Ahmet Ertegun in London.
The Page-Krauss tour will perform across Europe next May and is expected to hit America in the summer.
The UK leg of the tour will commence in Birmingham on May 5 and then move to Manchester, Cardiff and Wales, before heading off to Germany, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Sweden and Norway.
The European leg will conclude with a night at London’s Wembley Arena on May 22.
