Rod Stewart announces 2010 Arena tour

ROD Stewart has announced a seven-date UK and Ireland arena tour in May 2010 – his first indoor tour in five years!

Kicking off in Dublin and concluding at London’s O2 Arena, the tour also includes nights in Manchester, Belfast and Birmingham.

Stewart returned this week with his new studio album, Soulbook, which charted at No.4 in the US and No.10 in the UK. It’s his seventh UK Top 10 LP this decade.

The album features interpretations of ’60s/‘70s soul classics and includes duets with Mary J. Blige, Stevie Wonder and Smokey Robinson.

The tour dates are (all May 2010):

11 – Dublin, The O2
15 – Belfast, Odyssey
18 – Newcastle, Metro Arena
20 – Nottingham Arena
22 – Birmingham NIA
26 – Manchester MEN
29 – London O2 Arena

Tickets, costing between £70 and £60, go on sale on Friday, November 27, 2009.

Stewart, along with Robbie Williams, is the only solo artist to have five platinum albums in the UK this decade.

With 250 million album and single sales, he has now notched up 27 UK Top 10 albums, making him one of the most successful performers of all time.
