Roger Waters announces The Wall Live World Tour (2010/11)

Roger Waters

Story by Jack Foley

PINK Floyd luminary Roger Waters is to tour the world with a live version of the band’s classic album The Wall.

The extensive jaunt will commence later this year in Canada and the US, before extending to Europe and the UK in 2011.

In total, the show will visit more than 25 cities, including concerts at The O2 in London and in Manchester.

The album was last performed in Berlin in 1990.

The mastermind behind the album, Waters told a press conference that the success of his Dark Side of the Moon concerts prompted his decision to revisit The Wall.

He explained: “I decided to dip my toe back into the world of the touring rock ‘n’ roll person back at the turn of the century. Two years ago and the year before that I did a tour with the whole of The Dark Side of the Moon.

“So, last year I was thinking, well, what am I going to do? Shall I just play golf or garden or go into politics, or have I got one more of these in me? I’m 66-years-old now. So I thought, I think I have got one more. And I love to work.”
