Rolling Stones to be directed by Martin Scorsese

Story by Jack Foley

MARTIN Scorsese, currently basking in the acclaim surrounding his latest film The Departed, has revealed that he’s working on a documentary about legendary rockers The Rolling Stones.

Scorsese is to film The Stones’ upcoming New York gigs at The Beacon Theatre between October 29 and 31.

It has yet to be revealed whether the documentary will explore the entire history of the band, or whether it will focus on their current A Bigger Bang tour. But it should be interesting, whatever.

Scorsese is no stranger to rock documentaries, having already directed the acclaimed Bob Dylan film No Direction Home.

Mick Jagger’s Rolling Stones, meanwhile, have only made one career retrospective film in the form of 1989’s 25X5.
