Scissor Sisters announce indefinite hiatus

Scissor Sisters

Story by Jack Foley

SCISSOR Sisters have announced their intention to take an indefinite hiatus from recording music.

Speaking at their gig at Camden’s Roundhouse in London last night (October 24), the New Yorkers said there are currently no plans to work together again.

The announcement was made at the end of an extended gig to thank their fans for the support they have shown.

Jake Shears told the crowd: “This will be the last time we will play in London for quite some time.”

Ana Matronic also paid tribute to the UK fanbase saying they were “the ones who got us first – and always get us best”.

However, speaking to Gigwise after the show, Ana Matronic did move to reassure fans that this was not necessarily the end of Scissor Sisters completely, saying: “Don’t you worry – this isn’t the last you’ve heard of us.”

It is not yet known what prompted the decision to take a break, although guitarist Del Marquis has also revealed that he is currently working on solo material.
