Scissor Sisters announce summer UK dates (2010)

Scissor Sisters

Story by Jack Foley

SCISSOR Sisters are set to play their first live shows in the UK for three years when they play a five-date UK tour in June.

The live dates coincide with the release of their brand new album Nightwork, which is released on June 28.

The run of dates on this tour includes two nights at London’s O2 Academy Brixton.

The New Yorkers have a huge live following in the UK, which has grown over the years with their incredible live shows.

From the early days when they played one of their very first shows at the London club The Cock in 2003 to a tiny audience to arena sized crowds in 2007 when they played a UK tour that included a three-night run at London’s O2 Arena.

This tour will be the first time Scissor Sisters will be performing tracks from their eagerly awaited new LP Nightwork, an album which marks the first time the band have worked with an external producer. All songs were co-produced by the band and Stuart Price.

The dates are (all June 2010):

16 – Glasgow Barrowlands
22 & 23 – London O2 Academy Brixton
25 – Birmingham O2 Academy
28 – Manchester Apollo

Tickets £30 and £32.50 (for London) and they go on sale on Friday, May 14 at 10am.
