Secret Garden Party 2007: Isobel Campbell on bill

Isobel Campbell

Story by Jack Foley

ISOBEL Campbell (pictured), New Young Pony Club and Echo and the Bunnymen are among the acts confirmed to appear at The Secret Garden Party 2007.

This year’s party takes place between Thursday, July 26 and Sunday, July 29 at its usual venue near Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.

And it boasts an all-new, all-dancing main stage, a performance arts Festival Of Fools stage and the new Centre Camp -a microcosm of the festival and a home for everyone – all of which takes place in a larger and lovingly redesigned landscape.

As well as the large changes, more emphasis is being placed on smaller tented areas that will be able to keep the party going all night.

So revellers can look out for hitherto unseen delights such as: The Fish Seeks Bicycle Looniverse, One Small World (no not the Disney ride!), Where The Wild Things Are and finally the participatory SGP Action Camps, including Action Figure Camp, The Apres Ski Club and The Kissing Workshop.

However, the Secret Garden Party is still the only small festival that can claim not only to be completely un-branded and non-corporate but also to have the widest, most diverse and best line-ups of any event like it.

The confirmed music line-up so far in no particular order is:

Das Pop
The Noisettes
New Young Pony Club
Drive By Argument

Tickets are currently onsale from the website but there will be more to announce on the bands front and other activities in the coming weeks.

With this year’s theme of creating ‘Brave New Worlds’, the SGP organisers are looking for Gardeners to ‘GET INVOLVED’ by making the pledge to become part of the performing teams or action camps – thereby entitling them to a limited number of reduced priced tickets (for anyone who fancies spending their weekend as a postman, a bear or even a milkmaid).

Adult tickets are priced at £110 for the full four days. Visit the website to find out more…
