Shockwaves NME Awards Tour 2008: The Cribs on bill

The Cribs

Story by Jack Foley

THE Cribs (pictured right) and Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong are among the bands just confirmed to play the Shockwaves NME Awards Tour 2008.

They will be joined by the hotly-tipped likes of Does It Offend You Yeah? and The Ting Tings for the 19-date jaunt, which kicks off at Belfast’s Mandela Hall on January 29.

The tour will be rounded off with a rousing night at London’s Brixton Academy on February 22. Previous Shockwaves NME Tours have been filled with some of the biggest bands of today, including Kaiser Chiefs, Coldplay and Franz Ferdinand – all three of whom played the opening slot.

That honour goes to The Ting Tings, who shone at Glastonbury and recently supported Reverend & The Makers on the road.
