Sia Furler

Story by Jack Foley

SIA Furler is the inimitable voice behind Zero 7 and an established artiste and song-writer in her own right.

With over 3.6 million plays on her myspace site and her official website championed by popjustice as the best artiste site of the year she has legions of dedicated fans.

To end a remarkable year Sia has written and recorded a new song Pictures with Dan Carey (Breathe Me) which is being released for digital download. A woman of many talents Sia also directed the video. Watch it here

2006 has been a busy year for Sia. She has taken the US by storm, spent her summer touring the world with old friends Zero 7, having featured on all three of their albums and completed her own US sell-out tour.

Her hauntingly evocative track Breathe Me was featured in the final scene of the Six Feet Under series finale.

Thus followed the US release of her album, Colour The Small One. Cited by Rolling Stone as one of “10 Artists To Watch” critics everywhere fell in love with the Australian songstress.

The New York Times proclaimed: “Sia makes Dido sound complacent and makes Sarah McLachlan sound extravagant. Her songs are full of regrets and uncertainties, but the melodies are all she needs to cling to.”

Sia was nominated for an mtvU Woodie Award for Breathe Me for “Favorite International Artist”.

February 6, 2007 will see the release of a new 9-song mini LP by Sia, entitled Lady Croissant, recorded live at Bowery Ballroom in NYC.

Included are songs from both the Zero 7 and Sia catalogue. This live performance captures Sia at an incredible height, performing such songs as Numb, Breathe Me, as well as a cover of The Pretenders song, I Go To Sleep.

This CD will also feature the brand new studio track titled Pictures.
