Slow Club confirm annual London Christmas show (2013)
Story by Jack Foley
SLOW Club have confirmed that they will once again return to London for their traditional Christmas show on December 10, 2013 at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire.
Having first played the Union Chapel in 2008 (before they had even released an album) the Christmas shows have become a much-loved institution, quickly out-growing the Union Chapel and then Koko.
They have been a marker for how the band have grown from a charming two-piece full of teenage promise into a fully-grown four-piece band who ooze confidence in their own musical ability and impress as much as charm.
To the uninitiated a Slow Club Christmas show features hits from the band’s two albums (plus this year previews from their forthcoming third), mixed with a combination of Christmas covers and their own Christmas songs.
All of this is delivered with the showbiz oomph of a Motown review, complete with brass and strings and the occasional choir or special guest musician.
Special guests have yet to be announced. But tickets prices are £12.50 and are available via this link
