Snoop Dogg reunites with Dr Dre

Snoop Dogg

Story by Jack Foley

SNOOP Dogg has reunited with super-producer for the first time in five years.

The hip-hop heavyweights will work together on Snoop’s forthcoming all-star album The Blue Carpet Treatment, which is due for a US release on November 21.

Dr. Dre has worked on several tracks alongside a who’s who of industry figures such as The Neptunes, Timbaland and Rick Rock.

Snoop Dogg has also called on the likes of Stevie Wonder, The Game, Ice Cube, Nate Dogg, R Kelly and Ne-Yo as guest singers for the follow up to 2004’s R&G (Rhythm & Gangsta): The Masterpiece, according to US Billboard magazine.

One of the tracks between Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre finds them contemplating life without hip-hop as well as what the world might have been like if Tupac Shakur was still alive – the rapper was shot dead 10 years ago this month but continues to be an inspiration to countless hip-hop artists.

As of yet, there is no confirmed UK release date for ‘The Blue Carpet Treatment – although to say it’s eagerly anticipated is something of an understatement.
