Snow Patrol announce UK tour for early 2009

SNOW Patrol have announced an extensive tour of the UK in February and March 2009.

The band will play a total of 13 dates, kicking off in Bournemouth on February 22 and culminating with a homecoming show in Belfast on March 19. They will also play London’s O2 Arena during the course of their travels.

The Taking Back The Cities Arena Tour will enable fans to hear songs from their fifth album, A Hundred Million Suns, as well as past favourites such as Chasing Cars and Run.

Commenting on the dates to BBC 6Music, Snow Patrol lead singer Gary Lightbody said he was both wxcited and nervous about taking the new material on the road.

“I’m excited but also nervous to find out how they [fans] take to them and how they respond in the live setting.”

Tickets for the tour go on sale at 9am on November 7.
