Steve Martin to play Southbank Centre

COMEDIAN and film star Steve Martin is to play a special concert at London’s Southbank Centre on Monday, November 9, 2009.

The star of films such as Parenthood and The Pink Panther is also a Grammy Award-winning bluegrass player, who has collaborated with heavyweights of the genre including Earl Scruggs, Vince Gill and John McEuen.

Appearing for the first time in the UK with his bluegrass band, he performs tracks from his acclaimed new album, The Crow: New Songs for the Five-String Banjo on an evening called ‘An Evening of Bluegrass & Banjo’.

Martin will be appearing with The Steep Canyon Rangers.

Tickets go on sale to Southbank Centre members on Tuesday, September 15, and to all on Thursday, September 17.
