Story by Jack Foley

STEVIE Wonder has announced details of a European tour including a night at London’s O2 Arena in September 2008.

The Grammy Award-winning musician announced a total of 12 dates with a live set at the Hard Rock Café in London – marking his first European shows in over a decade.

During the showcase, he told journalists: “I’m looking forward to performing in these venues in Europe. We’re going to have some wonderful nights of intimate excitement.”

He also revealed that he first began planning a return to the stage last year after his mother – who died in 2006 – came to him in a dream.

“I want to thank everyone for the contribution you’ve made over my life,” he continued. “Had it not been for you I would never have had the chance to get the support for my music. And I would never have been able to allow my mother to have a far better life than she would have had.”

He then performed eight songs, including Superstition, Happy Birthday and Master Blaster.

Tickets for the concerts will go on sale from 9am BST on June 13.
