Take That and Cheryl Cole for Royal Variety Performance (2010)

Take That

Story by Jack Foley

NEWLY reunited Take That and Cheryl Cole are among the stars that will appear as part of this year’s Royal Variety Performance (2010).

In what promises to be a diverse bill, tenor Russell Watson and comedian John Bishop will also perform for the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall at the London Palladium on December 9 along with pop favourites N-Dubz and the cast of West End musical Les Miserables.

The event will be hosted by another comedian, Michael McIntyre, who said he is “unbelievably excited” to be the host charged with introducing the likes of Take That, Cole and – in a nod to his sense of humour – “Prince Charles’s own personal booking, N-Dubz”.

Further highlights of the show, which will be broadcast on the BBC next month, include a performance by Danielle Hope, the winner of BBC talent contest Over The Rainbow, ahead of her West End debut in The Wizard of Oz, which opens at the Palladium in February. Find out more

Tenor Watson is expected to perform Parla Piu Piano, best known as the love theme from The Godfather, while Take That will perform two songs and Cole will deliver one track from her second solo album.
