Teenage Cancer Trust gigs 2013: Noel Gallagher, Damon Albarn and Kasabian among line-up
Story by Jack Foley
NOEL Gallagher is to unite with former Blur rivals Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon at London’s Royal Albert Hall next year as part of the 2013 Teenage Cancer Trust gigs.
The former Oasis member announced next year’s line-up at a press conference earlier today (Wednesday, December 5, 2012), during which the announcement of their on-stage union proved to be one of the highlights.
Gallagher and Albarn ended their long-running rivalry in 2011 after years of animosity dating back to the mid-1990s when Blur and Oasis were the two biggest acts in England, while Coxon supported Gallagher on his Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds tour earlier this year.
The on-stage union bodes well for the prospect of Gallagher and Albarn working together on an album one day, as has been suggested by Gallagher.
Other highlights during the week-long series of concerts in March include Ryan Adams opening proceedings with special guest Beth Orton, a comedy night with Russell Brand and performances by Kasabian and Primal Scream.
The full line-up is as follows (all March 2013):
19 – Ryan Adams with special guest Beth Orton
20 – An evening of comedy with Russell Brand and Noel Fielding and very special guests
21 – Primal Scream
22 – Kasabian
23 – Noel Gallagher, and Damon Albarn & Graham Coxon
24 – Rizzle Kicks and Labrinth
