The Automatic

Story by Jack Foley

T-MOBILE Street Gigs return to Birmingham for their next live date when the T-Mobile Fan Park plays host to The Automatic on Tuesday, June 27.

With Monster being a top 10 hit single and their album Not Accepted Anywhere going from strength to strength expect a monster night out.

Parasols, a picnic area, stilt walkers and inflatable monsters will be installed into the T-Mobile Fan Park as well as providing guests with a picnic hamper to create a garden party to remember and give gig goers an experience they won’t forget.

Lead singer Rob Hawkins commented: “We’re really looking forward to playing the Fan Park. It’s going to be our first stadium gig. It’s right in the middle of the World Cup so it’ll be a great atmosphere and we’re going to be on a high from the release of our debut album and Monster going top 5.”

A total of 20 T-Mobile customised gigs are planned for 2006 and each one will be a credible and unique entertainment experience in its own right.

Over the next few months, T-Mobile customers and their music fan mates will have the chance to see their favourite bands performing live in the most unusual and unexpected settings… the select crowd will always know where their Street Gigs experience starts, but they’ll never know beforehand quite how it’s going to end up!

Tickets are strictly by invite only. To be in with a chance of getting on the guest list for this intimate gig, music fans must register online at from 9am on June 16. Registration closes at 9am on June 22.

If you’re not lucky enough to get your hands on a pair of tickets, highlights from this gig along with live performances from other top bands will be broadcast on Channel 4 at 11.30pm on Friday, June 30.
