Story by Jack Foley

THE Beatles are to release a new album called LOVE in November, according to reports.

The album was conceived when surviving Beatles, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, along with Yoko Ono, John Lennon’s widow, and Olivia Harrison, George Harrison’s widow, to approach The Beatles producer, Sir George Martin, and his son, Giles, for permission to do so.

The intention was to make experimental mixes from original Beatles master tapes for a collaboration with Cirque De Soleil that would be used in the latter’s production of Mirage, which made its debut in Las Vegas in June.

Confirming the project had been given the go-ahead, Sir George said: “The music was designed for the LOVE show in Las Vegas but in doing so we’ve created a Beatles album. The Beatles always looked for other ways of expressing themselves and this is another step forward for them.”

Hence, Beatles fans will be listening to a completely new experience when the album is released – a concept that is being described by Giles as “a way of re-living the whole Beatles musical lifespan in a very condensed period”.

LOVE will mark the band’s first new material for 10 years although an exact release date in November is yet to be confirmed.
