The Charlatans announce Some Friendly London show

Story by Jack Foley

TO COINCIDE with the 20th anniversary of The Charlatans’ debut album Some Friendly the band will play the record, in full, at London’s Roundhouse on May 31, 2010.

Revisiting chart successes and cult classics from the set that include The Only One I Know, Sproston Green, Then and more, the anticipated event will herald a reissued, expanded version of Some Friendly, details of which will follow.

Currently holed up in the studio with legendary producer Youth (The Verve, Primal Scream, Killing Joke, Crowded House), The Charlatans will deliver their eleventh, as yet untitled studio album this June.

Taking five minutes out, frontman Tim Burgess said: “We’re all really looking forward the show. It’s the first time we’ve played all the tracks from Some Friendly in a set since the year it was released. It will be a great night.”

Tickets for the show are priced at £25 (+ fees) and they go on sale on Friday, February 5 at 9am. The support act will be announced shortly.
