THE Last Shadow Puppets will be performing their debut live shows in August, followed by their first European and American shows in October/November.

The band, aka Alex Turner and Miles Kane, and live musicians James Ford (drums), John Ashton (keyboards) and Stephen Fretwell (bass), will be augmented by a full 16-piece orchestra at each show.

Shows in Portsmouth and Oxford will precede the band’s festival appearances at this year’s Reading and Leeds festivals.

The band will then return to mainland Europe (following August’s Paris show) and Britain in October for a series of headlining dates, including a night at London’s Hammersmith Apollo at the end of October.

The band then travel to America for shows in New York’s Grand Ballroom and Los Angeles’ elaborate Mayan Theatre.

15 – Stockholm Circus
16 – Copenhagen, Vega Main Hall

20 – Amsterdam, Paradiso
22 – Glasgow Academy
23 – Sheffield City Hall
26 – London Hammersmith Apollo
30 – Grand Ballroom, New York

November 3 – Mayan Theatre, Los Angeles

Tickets for all UK headlining shows will be available from usual outlets on Saturday, July 5, 2008 from 9.30am.

The Last Shadow Puppets single Standing Next To Me, taken from their recent No.1 album The Age Of The Understatement, will be released on Monday, July 7, 2008.
