The Police announce Wembley finale show

AHEAD of next weekend’s Twickenham shows The Police have announced a third and final London date.

The European tour will end with a one-off gig at Wembley Arena on October 20, 2007 and tickets will go on sale at 9am on Friday, September, 7.

The Wembley show marks a significant return for The Police; the venue hosted the closing night of the Synchronicity Tour on New Year’s Eve 1983.

The band’s European Tour opened this week at the Globe Arena in Stockholm and arrives at Birmingham’s NIA on Tuesday, September 4 and Wednesday, September 5, followed by appearances at Twickenham on Saturday (8) and Sunday (9).

The Police have so far played to more than a million people in North America. In excess of million fans will also see The Police when they perform in Europe this autumn.

The tour moves back to North and South America later this year and continues on into Australia, New Zealand and Asia in 2008.
