THE Spice Girls have added two further London dates to their worldwide reunion tour, which begins in Canada in December.

The new dates take place at London’s 02 Arena on January 15 and 16 and follow previously announced shows at the same venue on December 15, 16 and 18, as well as January 2-4, 8,9, 11 and 13, 2008.

Tickets go on sale at 10am (BST) on Saturday, October 6 and are expected to be snapped up fast.

Demand for tickets has also prompted the reformed Spice Girls to announce further US dates after their dates in San Jose, Los Angeles and Las Vegas sold out.

In what promises to be a busy period for them, the group will also release a greatest hits album on November 12.

The original Spice Girls line-up has not performed on stage since Geri Halliwell departed in May 1998 – but the reunion shows (announced earlier this year) will see all five – Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Victoria Adams and Geri Halliwell – performing together again.

In their prime, the girl band enjoyed a string of chart hits, including Wannabe and 2 Become 1, as well as releasing a movie, Spiceworld.

They sold more than 55 million records around the world before Halliwell quit in 1998 citing “differences”. The remaining four members continued until 2001, when The Spice Girls split to pursue solo careers with varying degrees of success.
