The Spin Doctors announce London show with Dodgy
Story by Jack Foley
FOLLOWING the UK release of their critically acclaimed new studio album If The River Was Whiskey The Spin Doctors have announced they will return to London on Wednesday, September 25 to perform a rare concert at The Garage in Islington.
And they will be joined by special guests Dodgy.
A 24-hour ticket pre-sale will start at 9am on Thursday, May 9 from www.eventim.co.uk. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, May 10.
Spin Doctors, best known for their multi-million-selling album Pocket Full Of Kryptonite, and hit singles Two Princes and Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong, have come full circle by releasing a seminal blues rock album which harks back to the late eighties when they used to play the blues circuit in New York City.
The original line-up features Chris Barron (vocals), Aaron Comess (drums), Eric Schenkman (guitar) and Mark White (bass).
“When we first started we were four guys in our twenties,” remembers Aaron Comess. “The blues was such a big part of our roots. One of the reasons we came up with such a big catalogue of blues songs back then is that we’d play these downtown blues bars in New York. We were supposed to perform blues covers, but we actually wrote and performed our own blues songs.”
