Story by Jack Foley

THE Strokes are to headline this summer’s British Summer Time Festival in Hyde Park (2015).

The New Yorkers will play the London venue on June 18, topping a bill that also includes Beck, Future Islands, Temples, Public Service Broadcasting, The Wytches, Hinds, Gengahr, Yak and Kieran Leonard.

The gig will be The Strokes’ only UK festival appearance this year.

Announcing the gig, The Strokes said: “It may seem a ways away but summer’s still happening this year and we wanted to let you know The Strokes are planning another trip for another show, this time in London’s Hyde Park on Thursday, June 18.

“And if that wasn’t enough for us to be all excited about we’re also stoked to tell you that Beck and Future Islands will be joining us on the day, which is pretty-freaking-awesome.”

The Strokes join Blur, Kylie Minogue, Taylor Swift and The Who in headlining the event, which will take place at the end of June.

Blur will headline on June 20 with support from Metronomy, The Horrors and more, Minogue headlines on June 21, with support from Grace Jones and Chic with Nile Rodgers and The Who will headline on June 26, with support from Paul Weller, Johnny Marr and the Kaiser Chiefs.

Swift, meanwhile, tops the bill on June 27 with support from Ellie Goulding and John Newman.
