The Voice UK Live concert dates cancelled

The Voice UK

Story by Jack Foley

ALL 11 tour dates for The Voice UK Live have been cancelled due to a lack of ticket sales.

The gigs were due to feature eight of the show’s finalists and were scheduled to take place around the country, including the O2 Arena in London on September 15.

But in a statement released on Monday (June 18, 2012), a spokesman said: “Unfortunately, The Voice UK Live has been cancelled due to lack of ticket sales – customers are advised to contact their point of purchase for ticket refunds.”

The statement was keen to stress that ALL dates have been cancelled and have advised fans with tickets to get a refund.

Other venues on The Voice UK Live tour were Bournemouth International Centre, Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow and Sheffield.

News of the cancelled shows follows poor ratings for the TV show equivalent, which have dropped to 4.5 million since debuting with more than 10 million viewers in April.

Twenty eight-year-old Leanne Mitchell, from Lowestoft, Suffolk, was crowned the show’s first ever winner but her single, a cover of Whitney Houston’s Run To You, has so far failed to make it into the top 40 of the Official Chart.
