The Wombats have started 2008 at characteristically breakneck pace, kicking off the year by releasing the single Moving To New York on January 14 and playing on a carpark roof to 60,000 people at the opening event of Liverpool’s Capital of Culture celebrations.

They will then headline three sold-out NME Brats shows in February, before setting off for dates in Australia, Japan, the US and a headline tour of Europe before their UK dates.

The Wombats are Matthew Murphy (vocals, guitar, keyboard), Tord Øverland Knudsen (bass, vocals) and Dan Haggis (drums, vocals).
