Tom Baxter offers acoustic slot to unsigned artist for Koko gig

Tom Baxter

Story by Jack Foley

TOM Baxter is offering a major opportunity to an unsigned artist by giving them an opening acoustic slot when he performs at the legendary KOKO in Camden Town on June 3 in front of not only Tom’s receptive fans, but also movers and shakers from the music industry.

The singer has also been talking about developing artists for his Sylvan record label.

To be eligible to enter, the act must be unsigned and send either their Myspace link or two MP3 tracks to

The winner will then be picked by Tom to play at Koko on June 3. The act must therefore be available in London on June 3 and be able to get to the venue.

Tom has always tried to give other musicians a helping hand when it comes to breaking through into the music industry often getting friends and relatives on stage to play alongside him.

He also knows first hand how hard it is to break though and, in the end, financed the recording of his own top 10 album, the critically-acclaimed Skybound from selling his own artwork.

Coinciding with Tom’s KOKO performance on June 3, his new single Miracle will be released on June 2. The track finds Tom at his most anthemic, and what starts out as a sultry ballad soon bursts into a cacophony of drums and piano.
