Tom Odell announces second London date and new album details
Story by Jack Foley
TOM Odell has announced a second date at London’s Electric Ballroom in May and details of his debut album, Long Way Down.
Released on April 15, through ITNO / Columbia Records the long-player will be preceded by his debut single, Hold Me, on April 1.
Commenting on what to expect, Tom said: “I hope the album feels human and real and that there are some flaws – because the flaws help make it what it is.
“Really, I’d love to live in a time when music felt uncontrived and imperfect and gave people a real sense of elevation. When it’s sad I want it to be REALLY sad.
“When it’s happy I want it to feel euphoric…I suppose I want the record to express the heightened feelings and emotions we all get in our lives.”
Tom also embarks on his first ever headline tour this March, which has already been upgraded to bigger venues.
Opening on March 1, 2013, at The HMV Institute in Birmingham and closing at London Dingwalls on March 12, Tom will then return to London to play two sold out dates at the Electric Ballroom on May 23 and May 28.
