Xfm's Winter Wonderland 2006: Kasabian to headline

KASABIAN have just been announced as the headline act of Xfm’s Winter Wonderland 2006 in London.

Lauren Laverne announced that the band will join The Kooks, The Feeling and The Automatic at Brixton Academy on December 9.

Xfm is celebrating Christmas 2006 by bringing together the hottest acts in the UK to stage three star-studded live events in December.

Venues in London, Glasgow and Manchester will host gigs across three consecutive nights in December, with proceeds going to Shelter, the housing and homelessness charity.

The event will be hosted by Xfm DJs from around the network including Lauren Laverne, Dominik Diamond and Paul Tonkinson and will be broadcast live and exclusively across the Xfm network including exclusive backstage gossip and interviews .

The dates are as follows…

December 7 – Glasgow Academy:
The Fratellis, Biffy Clyro, The View, The Suways, Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly, The Dykeenies.

December 8 – Manchester Apollo:
Manic Street Preachers, Badly Drawn Boy, The Rakes, Little Man Tate, Mumm-Ra.

December 9 – Brixton Academy:
Kasabian, The Kooks, The Feeling, The Automatic, Boy Kill Boy, Captain.

Opening each event will be the winners of Xfm’s Rock School, a month long search on all three stations in the network to find the three best school rock bands in the UK.

Xfm’s Winter Wonderland is Xfm’s flagship Christmas event which last year raised thousands of pounds for Shelter.
